2018 Volvo XC60 vs 2017 Volvo XC60

Proudly Serving Houston, TX

It’s impossible to imagine the auto industry without a Volvo in the lineup. For almost a century, Volvo owners have relied on the signature strong structure that has been considered extremely safe. The XC60 is no exception. It's been said: “you never get a second chance to make a first impression,” and the XC60 has passed that test with flying colors. Both the 2018 XC60 and the 2017 XC60 represent everything that Volvo stands for as a company. But how do they compare to one another? It’s not enough that the 2018 Volvo XC60 won “2018 World Car of the Year”, but the XC60 is actually competing against itself with the 2017 model as well. Is it even possible to improve upon perfection? That’s as close as you can get with the 2017 XC60, but then Volvo outdoes itself with a brand new model! After the 2017 XC60 was launched, it became a best-seller for the company for a very good reason. Car buyers were drawn to the racier and sophisticated style. Once the 2018 XC60 arrived, car buyers were already hooked and the new distinctive style was an easy way to meet their expectations for standing out among other Crossovers. The XC60 is one of the few vehicles where you see two of the same in the neighbor's driveway! It’s just that great of a vehicle – both the 2018 and 2017 model!

Whether it’s the 2018 or 2017 XC60, you’re going to find that it meets the highest expectations. The signature Drive-E power train gives you best-in-class fuel economy. The 2018 XC60 has 29 highway MPG, whereas the 2017 XC60 provides 30 highway MPG. The base model engine is a 2.0-liter turbo 4-cylinder with 250 horsepower. The available 2.0-liter supercharged and turbocharged 4-cylinder T-6 engine, in either model, has 316 horsepower and 295 pounds of torque. If you want to experience even more power, the 2018 XC60 has an available T-8 engine that uses the same T-6 engine but enhances it with an electric motor in order to provide 400 horsepower along with outstanding fuel efficiency and emission reduction.

Volvo refined the XC60’s appearance while keeping the same distinctive look. The 2018 XC60 is 184.6 inches in length, 74.9 inches in width and 65.3 inches in height, which was slightly improved upon from the 2017 model. With three exceptional trim levels available, the 2018 XC60 is pristine and immaculate. The 2018 XC60 inherited the same signature style from the 2017 XC60, with its high-gloss dynamic grille and distinguished-looking headlamp design. It’s fair to say that the 2018 model is a new face with the same exceptional appearance.

Volvo sent a strong message to car buyers by continuing with features that are unprecedented and innovative. The 2018 XC60 has exceptional Volvo IntelliSafe technology features, such as City Safety Collision Avoidance, Lane Keeping Aid and Apple CarPlay with Android Auto. The 9-inch Sensus Touchscreen is also smartphone compatible. Not to be outdone, the 2017 XC60 provides unique features, such as an embedded rear child booster seat that can be extricated when necessary. The rear head restraints also have an option of extrication to give you a safe unobstructed rear view when needed.
